Self-Adhesive Cork Floor & Wall Tile Installation

Our cork is a natural, unsealed wood-based product. Over-use of water-based sealants could cause shrinking or curling.

Floor & Wall

  1. Press tiles firmly to the prepared floor using a tile roller.
  2. Check after 2 hours to ensure tiles are secure, reroll if necessary.
  3. Do not use or seal the floor for at least 48 hours after installation.

If you intend to use tiles as a noticeboard, affix them to a baseboard screwed to the wall, rather than directly to the wall's surface. For a thicker notice board, add a second layer of tiles.

Finishing - Read before sealing your tiles!

To protect your new, natural cork floor, we recommend sealing with a water-based polyurethane varnish. Apply using a short-piled roller (not a brush). Ensure you do not over-wet the tiles as this could cause shrinkage or curling of the tiles. Always check the instructions from the varnish manufacturer before use.

  1. Start with an almost dry coat to seal the surface.
  2. Add the next coat after at least 1 hour and when dry.
  3. Repeat as needed until you achieve the required finish.

We recommend around 5 coats to get a good finish.
Solvent-based varnishes will require a more extended drying period.
