Our cork is a natural, unsealed wood-based product. Over-use of water-based sealants could cause shrinking or curling.
Floor & Wall
If you intend to use tiles as a noticeboard, affix them to a baseboard screwed to the wall, rather than directly to the wall's surface. For a thicker notice board, add a second layer of tiles.
To protect your new, natural cork floor, we recommend sealing with a water-based polyurethane varnish. Apply using a short-piled roller (not a brush). Ensure you do not over-wet the tiles as this could cause shrinkage or curling of the tiles. Always check the instructions from the varnish manufacturer before use.
We recommend around 5 coats to get a good finish.
Solvent-based varnishes will require a more extended drying period.
